This Wednesday, I set off for yet another trip to Mexico. Wanting to see something new, I originally purchased at ticket to Guatemala. But, after reading this, I decided it wasn't the best idea to travel alone there, especially since it is unfamilar territory.
So, I decided to cancel that ticket and go to an area of Mexico I've never seen, the Yucatán Peninsula. It's most famous destination is Cancun, but I'm not particularly interested in that scene. I'm going to land in Campeche, then just kind of play it by ear. I hope to see some ruins, nice beaches, some colonial elegance, and natural beauty. I'll end up in Mérida, which I will fly out of 11 days after my arrival. While I'm very familiar with much of Mexico, I've never experienced its tropical areas, and I'm looking foward it.
In the meantime, here are a few random photos...
