Thar She Blows!

At about 11:30 am on Sunday, I heard a boom, thinking maybe it was thunder, as we had a weekend of on-again, off-again rain. A few minutes later, I heard what I thought was rain coming down. Bummed at the prospect of more rain, I opened the window shade for look, only to see a raging geyser across the street! A car had managed to jump the curb, taking out a tree, a light post, and a fire hydrant in the process. I have no idea what caused the accident, but this guy hit the jackpot, destroying three stationary objects as well as messing up his car, breaking a window of a furniture store and possibly ruining some furniture as well. It took the fire department about 40 minutes to get the hydrant to stop gushing. Nice.

I'm really behind in posting, so this entry will be a little disjointed. I guess the most important development is that Brenda has gone back to Mexico to sort some personal things out. We've decided to go our separate ways for now, and work on individual goals. There is no animosity, nor anyone to blame. These things happen, and I suppose they happen for a reason. We haven't ruled out future plans, but for now, I only wish her the best, and we are staying in touch on a regular basis. I'll leave it at that.

Other current happenings are fairly trivial by comparison, I guess. A regular visitor to this blog (surprisingly, there are a couple) suggested I archive my posts in an effort to reduce loading time for those viewing it. It was a good idea, so now only the five most recent posts will appear on the home page. If anyone wants to see entries from way back when, you can click on "Previous Posts" or "Archives" on the right hand side of the page. Thanks, Cory.

Also, I added a couple of photos to my "Week of Surprises" post from about 2 weeks ago. I've had to post entries from work lately, and I had left the pics on my home computer.

I think I'll end this entry by with some images from the last couple of weeks. Until next time...

I eat well when Brenda's around.

Eric-

Those are some amazing shots. I love the water pics. It is incredible to see how much pressure there is as to send the water that high into the air. And for 40 minutes, ouch, that's a waste.

Beautiful images from every angle. Nice capture, my friend! Your photos are so well composed, Eric--this is the stuff I was talking about the other day! Wow! And too bad the driver couldn't have taken out the hydrant a day earlier on Saturday when we were hanging out in Orange together. Man, I wish that I could have been there as well...

Thanks, guys. I would've liked to have gotten closer, but I would have been soaked! The camera was getting a little wet already, so I had to keep my distance.

I think it was a guy driver, about 25 or so. I just hope he has good insurance.
