I guess this blog is just barely clinging to life. This has been the longest I've gone without posting something new; I actually missed the entire month of June, which I believe is a first since I started this in November 2005. I've simply been too busy of late to devote time to it.
Work has been really, really busy for me for the last five or six months. The regular workload has been heavy, but it's the addition of two new responsibilities that has me a bit overloaded. Simply put, I've been given the task of trying to salvage the floundering graphic design program pretty much singlehandedly. I'm happy for the opportunity, mostly because it includes my first-ever teaching assignment. I've wanted to try my hand at teaching a beginning graphic design class for a long time, and now I have the chance. This class begins at the end of next month, and I have a lot of work to do between now and then, as this experience will be completely new to me.
The other task is to promote the art and graphic design programs at the college, which I volunteered to take on by myself. This is proving to be a time-consuming project, so I've been feeling really crunched for time between the three major areas of responsibility at work and trying to maintain any semblance of a social life. Most of those who may read this blog are probably aware of all this, and I apologize if I've become somewhat invisible of late. It will probably be this way through the end of the year, but I try to keep in mind that it's all for good reasons.
Anyway, I did recently make time for a trip to Bass Lake. Miles, Lisa and I went up for the Fourth of July for about five days. Bass Lake is an annual tradition- I feel the need to get up there at least once a year, as it's one of my favorite places anywhere.
With that, I'll end with some photos from that trip. Until next time...

Umm ok, your pictures are so much better than what I could ever take and we were at the same place.
I had a nice time with you and Miles at the cabin.
